Well, howdy y'all!
I'll make this brief, seeing I haven't long been woken up by the re-occurring sounds of school buses (yup, the school year starts all over again... ).
I can tell you, it was quite an enjoyable event, with 56 coaches participating. I believe I was the only Pro-Elf coach there. The ladies of Leia's Metal Bikinis did quite well, winning four, losing three (all on day two) and finishing 22nd overall. (There was a big log jam between 10th and 25th, with only a handful of points separating fifteen players. 21st place was one point ahead of me, with 19th spot being only two.) I had won my first three games, and was one of five coaches on three wins at the end of day one. Then, for some reason, the dice just seemed to only want to roll ones every time I dodged or went for those extra squares, or pretty much anything that required a two or better for an elf. So, position wise, I went from 5th at the end of day one, to 32nd at the end of day two. A big 4-0 win over a luckless orc coach on the final day propelled me up ten spots to where I finished.
The good thing, was that I didn't suffer too much casualty wise. Only two serious injuries for the tournament, no deaths, and my apothecary was only needed once - in the last game! And my three losses? The first one was to the gent who finished runner-up (Redcard), the second to the guy who won it (Grumpsh) and finally the Wood-Elven coach who scored the most TDs for the event!
I picked up a couple of figs for the Arctic ogre team. Two Malifaux Ice Golems, which I've painted in hues of dark blue. I'll add a pic when they're done. I also found a cheap copy of Hearts of Iron 3 as well.
Anyway, must dash. Need a shower to combat the oven I'm currently living in... ciao!
P.S: Yes, that is me under that rather colorful hat! It was well spotted! Dozens of people (mostly women) loved the hat. The only negative response was from some Queenslander Blood Bowler who derisively asked why I was wearing it? "Because I can!" I responded! (Go to http://www.nerdburgerjewellery.blogspot.com/2012/01/cancon-2012.html to see the hat!)

Apologies, for some reason, every time I try to put the link in, it goes anywhere but where it's supposed to be! You'll have to just copy and paste the links for the time being.
